Tanner Hall Watch Online Movie Download Free Dvd

Tanner Hall is a vivid peek into the private world of an all-girls boarding school. In a cozy, but run down New England, the knot of adolescent complexity is unraveled through the coming of age stories of four teen-age girls. The director-screenwriters modeled Fernanda's wardrobe after 'Tatiana von Furstenberg''s sense of style, right down to having actor 'Tricia Mara' wear Ms. von Furstenberg's own shoes during filming. In fact, there were several days on set where the two were dressed almost identically, including once when both were in yellow dresses, bright thick tights, and the same exact tan heeled boots. A movie about an all-girls’ secondary-level boarding school is probably not going to deal how the students discuss the situation in Libya. “Tanner Hall” is no exception to the usual rule that such a genre will emphasize , flirtations, troublemaking, all the subjects that parents don’t want to deal with, which is why they send their teens to such a place. These gals are stereotypical, which is to say that you won’t expect much thinking, er, outside the box. Things do occur during senior year but nothing that would justify putting caps and gowns on any of these lovely young women.

This is an ensemble-based film but one that is anchored by Rooney Mara in the role of Fernanda. (Mara is the co-ed who made an egregiously stupid financial move by dumping Mark Zuckerberg during the first five minutes of “The Social Network.” Soon to star in the American version of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Mara is going places.) In this story, let’s call Fernanda the home-wrecker, though her interference in an older man’s marriage is not entirely her fault. Brie Larson is Kate, a flirt, a no-action-talk-only type who seems scheduled to drive her English teacher out of the school. Amy Ferguson is here as Lucasta, a lesbian who may not know what the word means but realizes “there’s something wrong with me” when she cannot react to her boy-friend’s kiss. And Georgia King as Victoria, is trouble. There you have it. Each young woman is a type.

The story is not uninvolving, though, even as it clicks off the boxes on the checklist. Mr. Middlewood (Chris Kattan) plays against his “Corky Romano” type, stuck with a strange wife (Amy Sedaris) who goes through her own checklist of visualization techniques to try to arouse her erectile-ly dysfunctional husband—who manages to be ready to perform when enticed by the flirtatious Kate. Fernanda falls for The Older Married Man Who Just Became A Father, Gio (Tom Everett Scott, sporting an obvious rug on his head). Gio looks ready to throw his life overboard for Fernanda, yet another example of a guy whose brain is stapled in below his waist.

Despite all these soap-opera-like undercurrents, the Big Event for these girls is a trip to the town fair using an ill-begotten key, as these tykes are not allowed outside the grounds of the school. All is filmed in a leafy part of Rhode Island by Brian Rigney Hubbard with Roger Neill’s original music playing softly in the background. “Tanner Hall” is a coming-of-age chick-flick right down to the two writer-directors, Francesca Gregorini and Tatiana von Furstenberg in their first joint project.           Watch Tanner Hall Movie Online

As Fernanda enters her senior year at Tanner Hall-a sheltered boarding school in New England-she's faced with unexpected changes in her group of friends when a childhood acquaintance, the charismatic yet manipulative trouble-maker Victoria, appears. Fernanda is usually the voice of reason among her friends-adventurous and  Kate and tomboy Lucasta -but when she begins a complicated friendship with Gio, an older family friend, she decides it's finally time to take some risks. Jealous of Fernanda's exciting relationship, Victoria begins to sabotage Fernanda's plans and plots to publicly humiliate her.

Tanner Hall is centered on four girls in their last year of boarding school in New England as they are discovering themselves. Fernanda (Rooney Mara, Youth in Revolt) goes out of her comfort zone and starts an affair with a family friend. Kate (Brie Larson, Showtime’s United States of Tara) aggressively flirts with a teacher without any thought of consequence while Lucasta (Amy Ferguson, Garden State) is confused as she discovers her own . Victoria (Georgia King, One Day), jealous of the friendship of the three girls, desperately manipulates to garner their attention.

Feeling disadvantageous with his sworn brother, Song Hu, Hou Jie sets a trap for Song in a restaurant, under the guise of agreeing to his daughter's engagement to Song's son. Meanwhile, Hou Jie's deputy, Cao Man, feeling that he was being used by Hou and that he deserves better, decides to betray Hou. Cao Man sends assassins to murder Hou Jie and his family. Hou Jie manages to fatally wound Song Hu with his handgun, but Song still saves Hou to allow him to escape from the assassin's ambush before succumbing to his injuries.
Hou Jie manages to escape together with his daughter, but his daughter was severely injured when a carriage knocked her down while she is fleeing, and worsen when they fall off a cliff. Hou Jie's wife is rescued by some passing-by Shaolin monks, who were stealing rice from the military granary to help the refugees living near the temple. In desperation, Hou Jie brings his daughter to Shaolin, begging the monks to save her life, but it is too late and she dies of her injuries. Hou Jie's wife blames him for the death of their daughter and leaves him. Hou Jie attacks the monks in anger but is quickly subdued.

Hou Jie becomes disillusioned and wanders near Shaolin, until he meets the cook monk Wudao, who provides him with food and shelter. Hou Jie feels guilty for his past misdeeds and decides to become a monk and atone for his sins. During his stay in Shaolin, Hou Jie gradually understands Shaolin's principles through study and practising martial arts, mends his ways and finds peace and enlightenment from his heart. One day, Hou Jie overhears that Cao Man, who has taken control over his army, is oppressing the people by forcing them to unearth Chinese relics. Cao Man sells the relics to foreigners in exchange for advanced weaponry, after which he will have the labourers massacred to silence them. Hou Jie shows up to save some labourers and exposes himself in the process.

When Cao Man hears that Hou Jie is still alive, he leads his soldiers to the Shaolin temple to capture Hou. Hou Jie volunteers to distract Cao Man while the monks secretly break into Cao's house to save the imprisoned labourers. The plan succeeds but Hou Jie's senior, Jingneng, is brutally killed by Cao Man while buying time for his juniors to escape. Upon returning to Shaolin Temple, the monks decide that they need to evacuate the temple to avoid further trouble. Wudao leads the refugees away while Hou Jie and the other monks remain behind to defend the temple. By then, Cao Man arrives with his troops and orders an attack on Shaolin.           To View The Full HD : free movies online for free
At the same time, the foreigners feel that they have been cheated and they bombard Shaolin with artillery, resulting in heavy casualties for both the Shaolin monks and Cao Man's forces. Hou Jie defeats Cao Man in a fight and eventually sacrifices himself to save Cao from being crushed by a falling beam (returning the karma of Song Hu's sacrifice to save Hou during Song's assassination) and falls into the Buddha statue's palm and dies peacefully, leaving Cao feeling guilty. On the other hand, the surviving monks succeed in overcoming the enemy and stopping the bombardment. Meanwhile, the retreating refugees turn back and start crying when they see Shaolin Temple in ruins. Wudao tells them that the Shaolin spirit will continue to live in them even though the temple has been destroyed.

Watch One Fall Online free movie 2011

Someday Anne Hathaway will no doubt look back at “One Day” as a distant memory. The rest of us might not be so willing to forget. As passion-starved as it is lame brained, “One Day” methodically checks in with best friends Emma and Dex every July 15 starting in 1988 at their Edinburgh University graduation. By the time the story mercifully ends 20 years later, Emma (Hathaway) and Dex (Jim Sturgess) have evolved from best friends to estrangement to lovers. In between, we’re subjected to every piddling emotion they’re experiencing, from career highs and lows, births, engagements, breakups, death, etc. Watch One Fall Movie Online

It’s all there and director Lone Scherfig (the Oscar-nominated “An Education”) not-so-subtly works all the heart-tugging angles. Emma’s a frumpy aspiring writer stuck working at a London taco shop. He’s the dashing host of an MTV-style music show. He’s a rebel; she’s a prude. When he is on top of the world, she’s barely getting by. The tables turn and she’s got herself together and he’s undone. They are so different that it’s often hard to buy that they are even friends. Plus, Dex takes her for granted and it’s obvious she is in more-than-like with him. And, in case you don’t pick up the whole you-complete-me nonsense, Emma finds a yin-and-yang tattoo on Dex’s ankle while they’re sunbathing on holiday. Cue up tender beach moment.

The dithering and melodrama that plays out onscreen is no different than the mush seen every Sunday night on Lifetime. Plus, there’s that syrupy score to let you know how you’re supposed to feel.“One Day” might sound like a Nicholas Sparks book.

It’s not, but David Nicholls adapted his best-selling novel of the same name. In Scherfig’s hands “One Day” is a rather dull affair and certainly not one to remember. It’s all suds and sap. The characters are borderline insufferable and it’s hard to root for either of them, even when tragedy strikes. The movie’s gimmick – that we join Dex and Emma for one day every year – is also its biggest problem. Perhaps in a novel this isn’t as noticeable, but onscreen the story lacks cohesion.

Oscar-nominated for “Rachel Getting Married,” Hathaway speaks in a British accent that comes and goes. Sturgess (“Across the Universe,” “21”) plays a decent cad, but turns wooden when he has to reveal real emotion. Not to mention the lack of chemistry between the pair. She was better matched with Jake Gyllenhaal in “Love and Other Drugs.” When Sturgess and Hathaway share the screen, it feels like they’d rather be somewhere else.

The only palpable moment in the film is a scene between Sturgess and his dying mother (a terrific as always Patricia Clarkson) that could have easily been deleted because it doesn’t add to or advance the narrative of an already overly long (103 minutes) film.             Watch One Fall Movie Online

Lending much-needed gravitas, Clarkson relays tenderness and despair without saying many words. It’s the way she looks at her son, the way she embraces him and touches him. It is poignant. The same can’t be said for any scene with Dex and Emma, especially involving dialogue such as: “I love you, Dex. I just don’t like you anymore.” Also adding strong support are Rafe Spall as Emma’s mid-90s boyfriend and Ken Stott as Dex’s dad. They provide welcome changes of pace, but those moments are too few and far between to make this tepid affair seem like anything more than just another “Day.”

A sheriff's deputy fights an alternate universe version of himself who grows stronger with each alternate self he kills. Emma and Dexter couldn't be more different. So it's evident from their almost-intimate first encounter and their vow to just be buds that they're destined to fall in love. It's the oldest rom-com trick in the book—or in this case, David Nicholls' bestselling novel. But this bittersweet adaptation makes their two decades of foreplay (mostly) worth the wait.

The film's title, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, was revealed on October 2 along with a few promo pictures. Khan and Kaif are said to have gotten along well during the shoot with Kaif declaring to the media "He's really fun to gel with. Luckily, he's engaged, so we can chat and enjoy one another's company without people's imagination going on a rampage!" and "Imran is very simple and straight forward person. He's absolutely focused on his work and I like people for whom everything except their work is secondary." while Khan praised her acting. Ali Zafar stated that Kaif promised him that if the film made over INR 600 million at the box office, she would do a music video with him.

Another incident of sorts was reported by the media in early October and involves an emotional scene where Kaif's character slaps Khan's. Kaif would have been content to slap Khan once, however he insisted on sixteen takes so that the director would have a variety of slaps to choose from. Kaif later joked that the slap would be "the most authentic screen-slap audiences will ever see". Kaif was involved in another accident a few weeks later while filming in Nabha. Her hair got caught in a fan, and it was thanks to co-star Ali Zafar's quick action that the incident didn't turn more serious. Zafar and a spot boy named Raju did however sustain minor injuries and bruises.       To View The Full HD : free movies online for free

Several residents of a small Southern city whose lives are changed by the arrival of a stranger with a controversial plan to save their decaying hometown. In the midst of today's challenging times, each of the colorful citizens of this close-knit North Carolina community, will search for ways to reinvent themselves, their relationships and the very heart of their neighborhood. Watch Main Street Movie Online

A small North Carolina town is on the brink of desertion. The young are desperate to leave, and the old can’t remember why they stayed. When a man arrives promising prosperity for dried up Durham, a few residents begin to reevaluate their place in the community.Main Street starts with a simple story and lets the characters develop around it. The action moves back and forth between several plot points, keeping your attention as events unfold. At 90 minutes, you get just enough story without being worn out.The problem with Main Street is its inconsistency. Sometimes the script was so conversational I couldn’t help but believe the reality of the story. In other cases, the actor’s lines had no flow.

Main Street had wonderful lead characters. Ellen Burstyn, Patricia Clarkson, Amber Tamblyn and a majority of the prominent female characters couldn’t have been better. I felt what they felt and saw Durham through their eyes.  Orlando Bloom and Andrew McCarthy acted equally well in their scenes while Colin Firth, on the other hand, never nailed his supposed Texas accent. It wasn’t his best performance, and for that I was greatly disappointed; however, the cast came together nicely to allow us all to quickly forget this minor casting flaw.Unfortunately, all of the film’s minor characters served only superficial purposes. Most often they were there to explain a scene in the film, either by way of their own lines or from a main character saying something to them. This made it seem like the film didn’t trust its audience to catch onto key elements of the plot.  For those of us who could piece together the story alone, this was nothing more than an unpleasant distraction.

Even with its flaws, Main Street had heart. This was the last film written by two-time Academy Award winner Horton Foote (To Kill a Mockingbird, Tender Mercies, The Trip to Bountiful) and thus the film meant a lot to those involved. With its historic cinematic significance Main Street deserves a certain degree of credit.  It was a pleasant experience, though it does leave much to be desired.  A little more than a year ago, there was a motion picture production in downtown Durham. Called Main Street, the film starred Colin Firth, Patricia Clarkson, Ellen Burstyn, Orlando Bloom and Amber Tamblyn.            Watch Main Street Movie Online

But really, its strongest claim to being taken seriously was that the author of the screenplay was Horton Foote.Foote, who died in March 2009, is a big deal this year on Broadway as his Orphans' Home Cycle had a triumphant limited run during the winter, prompting plans for its transfer to Broadway in the fall.

Still, that hasn't been enough to get much attention for Main Street, which appeared at Cannes last week, according to a couple of online sites. Main Street isn't listed on the Cannes website (and if you Google "main street" and "Cannes," you'll get nothing but hits for Stones in Exile, the documentary about the Rolling Stones 1972 album, Exile on Main St.). Instead, the film played at the market at Cannes, where hundreds of producers set up wildcat screenings in hopes of finding distribution for their films.

It's worth looking at the blog post written by one Jordan Overstreet and reposted on an Orlando Bloom fan site. The review recaps the story start to finish. Although there's a bit of a howler right at the top as Overstreet mistakenly writes that Foote based his script on Sinclair Lewis' novel Main Street, what follows is fairly exhaustive, and she seems to be well-versed in film language (like "B-story") and is comfortable criticizing Foote and John Doyle, the film's director, for some of their narrative decisions.            To View The Full HD : free movies online for free

Love In Space" is an ensemble romantic comedy that follows a mother and her three grown daughters as they juggle their assorted love lives. Each woman is successful in everything except love - until they unexpectedly encounter new romances in   Watch Love in Space Movie Online

Love (formerly titled I-Empire) is a science fiction film produced and scored by the alternative rock band Angels & Airwaves. The film is the directorial debut of filmmaker William Eubank. The film's world-premiere took place on February 2, 2011 at the 26th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival and the film was later featured in both the Seattle International Film Festival and FanTasia 2011 in Montreal. The film was released in 450 select theatres nationwide on August 10, 2011, in a special one-night-only l?ve live event that included a live-streamed band performance along with a question & answer session.

Love portrays the personal-psychological effects of isolation and loneliness when an astronaut becomes stranded in space and through this, emphasizes the importance of human connection and love. Additionally, it touches on the fragility of mankind's existence (explored through a dying Earth-apocalyptic doomsday scenario) inspired by the cautions of Carl Sagan in Pale Blue Dot and considers the importance of memories and stories as humanity's legacy.

n the year 2039, United States Astronaut Lee Miller is sent to the International Space Station as a one-man skeleton crew to examine if it is safe for use after it had been abandoned two decades earlier. Shortly after arriving on-board, Lee loses contact with Earth and finds himself stranded in orbit alone. As time passes and life support systems dwindle, Lee battles to maintain his sanity and to stay alive. His world is a claustrophobic and lonely existence and he begins to dream of prior crew members -both Russian and American- depicted in Polaroids left aboard the station from previous missions. After experiencing power problems, Lee is forced to journey into a portion of the ship that he earlier depressurized where he makes a strange and inexplicable discovery, the journal of a Civil War captain from 1864. Love explores the fundamental human need for connection and the limitless power of hope. A high-impact visual adventure, that resonates a common truth, that everyone has a story to tell and something even greater to leave behind.

Early teasers were released in 2007 and 2009. On January 10, 2011, the film's final trailer was released on Apple Trailers. The release of this trailer saw coverage on several industry websitesBased on the style choices seen in the film's trailer, reviewers have mentioned similarities to 2001: A Space Odyssey, Moon, and Solaris.Reviewers have also noted the production design, with the space-station set reportedly being built in William Eubank's parents' backyard

In a making-of video uploaded to his Vimeo account, Eubank details the construction of the set and lists materials such as packing quilts, MDF, pizza bags, velcro, insulation, Christmas lights, and other salvaged material as components to the ISS set.According to Tom DeLonge, the production was going to rent the space station from the movie Apollo 13 but instead opted to construct it from salvaged materials for budget reasons.         Watch Love in Space Movie Online

You’ll need a clear head to follow this impressive and angry American doc about the financial meltdown, as it races through late-twentieth-century American economic policy in an effort to pinpoint the roots of the recent crisis – which director Charles Ferguson attributes to an unholy alliance between politics, academia and big business.
Watch Inside Out Movie Online

Ferguson is an academic and IT entrepreneur in his fifties who only turned to filmmaking in the past decade. His film about the Iraq war, ‘No End In Sight’, was his first, and for this new hot potato he draws on a roll-call of 42 interviewees, from George Soros to a prostitute who often served high-rolling investment bankers. That’s a lot of boardrooms, bookcases and views over the Hudson, but Ferguson tempers these scenes with slick photography, some of it exterior, aerial shots of Manhattan or rural Iceland.

You’ll need these interludes to counter the rush of facts and figures. Ferguson take us from deregulation in Wall Street in the 1980s and ’90s to a series of later calamities that the government failed to act on, from the 2001 dot-com crash to the collapse of Bear Stearns. He argues that the government ignored the warnings of academics, many of whose peers were pro-deregulation and rewarded by other jobs. He laments, too, that Obama is still surrounded by the same advisers, such as Timothy Geithner, who shepherded Bush through the mess of 2008.

Ferguson’s style is to let his interviewees do the talking, with a sober voiceover from Matt Damon, but there’s a touch of Michael Moore in later scenes, when he insists on pinning down Glenn Hubbard, an economic adviser under Bush and Dean of the Columbia University Business School, on the cosy relationship between academia and government. ‘You have three more minutes,’ growls a man not used to being taken to task. ‘Give it your best shot.’

It's about the economic crisis how (why) has happened in America , Iceland in 2008 and spread all over the world. I think it is the best documentary ever made about the crisis. The documentary gives clear information how the big firms buy the politicians ( academics ) and get the regulations changed according to their needs in order to get rid of the legal control. It's interesting that the creators ( masters ) of the crisis didn't get any important charges and nothing happened to their wealth. It's sad that most of them employed again at high government positions by president Obama. In addition the comments by George Soros is very interesting. I highly recommend that it must be seen by the ones who interested in economy and politics.         Watch Inside Out Movie Online

LANCE PRESTON (Sean Rogerson) and the crew of "Grave Encounters", a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena has been reported for years.Watch Grave Encounters Movie Online

All in the name of good television, they voluntarily lock themselves inside the building for the night and begin a paranormal investigation, capturing everything on camera. They quickly realize that the building is more than just haunted - it is alive - and it has no intention of ever letting them leave. They find themselves lost in a labyrinth maze of endless hallways and corridors, terrorized by the ghosts of the former patients.

They soon begin to question their own sanity, slipping deeper and deeper into the depths of madness, ultimately discovering the truth behind the hospital's dark past... and taping what will be their final episode.

The Vicious Brothers' (that's their name) GRAVE ENCOUNTERS is a frightening romp told through the lens of a typical ghost-chasing reality show that gets considerably more than it's bargained for. It begins with the crew of Grave Encounters, lead by the very opportunistic Lance Preston (Sean Rogerson), mucking around their latest location, an abandoned insane asylum, trying to make a story where there appears to be none. The crew pays people to refer to ghost sightings they never saw, and bring in an expert energy worker to feel for otherworldly presences. They also capture spooky stock footage that they can later cut in when needed. Eventually, all this farce comes crashing down, when members of the crew go missing, the building they are shooting in disturbs the space-time continuum, and malevolent spirit ultra-violence erupts.

To say that GRAVE ENCOUNTERS is terrifying is a slight understatement. I'd say my breathing was short and shallow for about one-hour straight. The Vicious Brothers are masters-in-training when it comes to suspense, and have got their tension-release chops wound nice and tight. Once the action starts, there are few moments of peace.

Much of this tension is achieved by employing limited light sources. Like many a ghost-chaser reality show, night vision is king, and GRAVE ENCOUNTERS uses it liberally. At other times only a flashlight is employed, along with the always-feared-to-go-out camera light. Shots are narrow and panning to locate the source of disturbing voices and crashes is a troubled affair, as the hemmed ring of visibility keeps you forever wondering where the next fright is going to come. As such, there is something almost Ancient Greek theater in the film's use of off-screen violence. In the case of GRAVE ENCOUNTERS, less is definitely more.

Despite all the greatness, however, the film does have a number of glitches. While Mackenzie Gray shines as a fake-tanned spirit medium, the deliveries of many of the cast seem to over-stretch their talents. Rogerson performs very nicely when in-character as the show's lead, but comes off too much a clichéd parody when caught behind the scenes planting fake shots. I felt as if the Vicious Brothers underestimated the audience and how much we already assumed these shows to be more or less phony.          Watch Grave Encounters Movie Online

There were also a number of intended to be frightening motifs that either made me chuckle, or at one point actually cringe, seeing as one particular shot was more or less directly lifted from The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Think: melting faces, an absolutely terrifying sight to be sure, but one that has already ben used to classic ends.

Depending on how much of this reality TV genre you're willing to put up with, GRAVE ENCOUNTERS is either another nail in the coffin, or a welcome twist. The genre itself seems to be fighting for it's right to exist, and it's hard to say whether or not it will continue to captivate viewers. Personally, I feel the Vicious Brothers do a noteworthy job of flipping the genre back in on itself. And, so long as the brothers don't get too excitable, and keep their biting to a minimum (there's a difference between nodding to and stealing from) I'd say we're in for more quality mayhem.          To View The Full HD : free movies online for free

Watch Echotone Movie Online

Echotone is not necessarily about the hottest sounds coming out of Austin, TX. In fact, some of the featured bands aren’t really my thing. However, that does not detract from the documentary’s appeal in the slightest. Belaire’s twee-rock, Bill Baird’s Amiee Mann-esque pop Watch Echotone Movie Online
and Black Joe Lewis’ big band funk may or may not be your cup of tea, but their struggle is universal. If you are in a band, if you have ever thought about what it might take to “make it,” or if you have even the smallest dog in the local music fight, you must, must, must see Echotone. More than observing one band ever could, the amalgamation of voices and points of view in Echotone provides perspective about the totally fucked current relationship between music and commerce.

In Austin, as in many major cities, high-rise apartment buildings are being built in previously non-residential, hip neighborhoods. For Austin, that means a clash between established, loud and proud music venues and their new neighbors, who would appreciate being able to sleep without the buzz saw squeal of electric guitars drifting into their bedroom window at 2am. Director Nathan Christ found that the increased pressure and restrictions placed on the Austin music scene had a direct effect on the struggles of the musicians he was already following. At a recent Denver Film Festival screening, Christ admitted that the project started as a sort of “making the band,” where he would follow bands on the rise around and tell the story of their success.

However, due to the increasingly overwhelming stresses these musicians faced the movie morphed organically into the story of Austin’s battle against gentrification. Echotone is loose around the edges, and there is a natural, predictable disconnect between the less informed ramblings of some of the musicians and the big picture footage about the fate of Austin music.      Watch Echotone Movie Online
Christ overcomes this loose focus, using the breadth of discussion to the movie’s advantage. Echotone could have very easily ended up sounding like a message movie, but instead presents an interesting conflict and a wide swath of opinion without judgment.

The featured bands range in talent, ability, and success, and their opinions and expectations vary just as extremely. Several acts pay lip service to the idea of making music for reasons other than money and fame, but none seem entirely able to embody that ideal in practice. Belaire's Cari Palazzolo delights in making DIY album art with wrapping paper, paint, and sharpies, but later she reveals that Belaire sold a song to Olay Skin Care for use in a commercial. Ultimately, Belaire decides to avoid going down the commercial path, but it’s revealing that even Echotone’s most self-aggrandizingly independent subjects are tempted to follow the money trail. This is not a knock on Belaire at all. We’re all human, and the attraction to making money from your art is understandable and easy to relate to.          To View The Full HD : free movies online for free

One year after THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON terrorized female swimmers, a second expedition heads up the Amazon. Will it be the same story all over again?REVENGE OF THE CREATURE was written by William Alland (THE COLOSSUS OF NEW YORK, THE DEADLY MANTIS) and Martin Berkeley (THE DEADLY MANTIS, TARANTULA) and directed by Jack Arnold (THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, Watch Creature Movie Online
MONSTER ON CAMPUS). It begins with the ever smiling Captain Lucas (Nestor Paiva: MIGHTY JOE YOUNG [1949], TARANTULA, THE MOLE PEOPLE) taking his boat (The Rita) up river again. On board are Joe Hayes (John Bromfield: MANFISH, RING OF FEAR) and George Johnson (Robert Williams: THE PRIEST KILLER, THE BAT). His passengers are from Florida’s Ocean Harbor Institute, on their way to the Black Lagoon to investigate wild stories about a gill-man. Lucas takes great pleasure in telling them scary stories about the Creature and gets George so spooked he tries to talk Joe into forgetting the whole thing. Burly Joe will have none of this cowardly nonsense and the expedition presses on.

In spite of Lucas’ exaggerations, the creature proves suprisingly easy to catch. This two person team (using old fashioned diving suits instead of scuba gear) succeeds where last year’s five person expedition failed.

The creature is brought to the Institute (which looks a lot like sea world) and the creature makes the front page. The movie makes it clear there’s a lot of public interest but even so it doesn’t play it up enough. Imagine if an expedition from the San Diego zoo caught a live Big Foot (which will never happen because they don’t exist) and put it on display. The zoo would be over run by people, the line to get in would be miles long, and the lions would be very jealous.

Hearing about the creature causes Professor Clete Fergusson (John Agar: ZONTAR: THE THING FROM VENUS, WOMEN OF THE PREHISTORIC PLANET), a researcher in animal intelligence, to drop his chimpanzee project and head for the Institute. There he meets scientist Helen Dobson (Lori Nelson: THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED) and the two of them begin collaborating . . . if you know what I mean.

The creature arrives in a coma, so just as marine biologists do with any big fish, they put it in a shallow tank and a brave soul walks around the tank pushing the creature through the water to force his gills to work. The creature wakes up in a bad mood and proceeds to kick ass, nearly killing several people before they manage to chain him to the bottom of his tank.

The intelligence testing begins, as does the gill-man’s doomed infatuation with Helen. He stares longingly at her whenever she’s in the tank, but if the gill-man gets too close, Clete zaps him with an underwater electric cattle prod. Yeah, that’s right, I said an underwater electric cattle prod. Obviously the writers had never played Quake.        Watch Creature Movie Online

The Creature has enough and breaks free. He climbs out of his tank, sending the curious public into a mad panic. They helpfully announce over the loudspeakers: "The Gill-man has escaped! Run for your lives!". I’m sure more people would be killed in such a stampede than the creature kills later, but that’s a minor point. He overturns a car and makes his way to the ocean (which should have been fatal since he’s a fresh water fish).

The manhunt that follows is laughable in its seriousness, and the creature manages to hook up with Helen when she and Clete rendezvous at a swamp-side motel (good plan!).

I actually have to say one good thing about this movie. They make it clear that the gill-man (sounds Jewish, doesn’t it? I’m Murray Gillman, from Manhattan) is more like a lung-fish, which explains why he mostly breathes underwater, but can breathe air for short periods if he has to.

Watch Contagion Free Online movie Megavideo

A shrewd, unsensationalistic, non-visual effects-dependent global disaster melodrama, Contagion creates a credible picture of how the world might react (and, up to a point, has reacted) in the face of a rapidily spreading mystery disease for which no cure exists. Watch Contagion Movie Online

Director Steven Soderbergh and screenwriter Scott Z. Burns create unease and simmering tension without going over the top into souped-up suspense or gross-out moments (with one possible exception), which will automatically lessen interest among the lowest-common-denominator crowd. But the fine cast, likely solid critical reaction and undeniable topicality position this as a robust B.O. performer for the early fall season. The Warner Bros. release world premiered Saturday night at the Venice Film Festival.

Spanning the planet but keeping his focus intimate, Soderbergh plausibly sets up a scenario in which everyday human contact—people touching themselves, others and ordinary objects—triggers an inter-continental plague that instantly transforms the way people relate to one another and throws governments and the relevant medical institutions into a panic. The immediate twin issues are how to combat the disease, whatever it is, and how to deal with a populace increasingly inflamed by rumors that, thanks to personal electronic communications, travel even faster than does the virus.
Despite such familiar devices as ticking-clock calendar postings--”Day 14,” “Day 131”--military checkposts, the president going underground and so on, the feeling here is far more realistic and science-based than artificially concocted. Notwithstanding the urgent struggles faced by the diverse group of characters, including those such as the regular Joe played by Matt Damon, the heart of the movie rests with the medical professionals played by Kate Winslet, Jennifer Ehle and Laurence Fishburne, individuals placed on the anvil of the crisis whose performance under pressure will likely tell the tale.

The first symptoms are ordinary enough—coughing, weakness, a bit of fever. But nothing can prevent it getting worse. For Beth Emhoff (Gwyneth Paltrow), just returned to Minneapolis after a business trip to Hong Kong, it takes only two days for her collapse, start twitching, foam at the mouth and die. Her son soon follows, leaving her husband Mitch (Damon) both bereft and desperate that nothing happen to his teenage stepdaughter.

Reports of “clusters” of such cases have filtered in from Tokyo, London and elsewhere, so that by the fifth day, the World Health Organization sends Dr. Leonora Orantes (Marion Cotillard) to Asia to try to identify the source. Dr. Erin Mears (Kate Winslet) of the U.S. Center for Disease Control sets up quarantine facilities in Minneapolis while Beth's tissues are analyzed for clues as to the nature of the malady, a must for a vaccine to be created.           Watch Contagion Movie Online

Congenitally opposed to such medical prudence and official explanations for anything is Alan Krumwiede (Jude Law), a rogue English blogger based in San Francisco who seems privy to lots of hard information. When rebuffed by the establishment press, the rabid contrarian begins a one-man online crusade to expose an alleged conspiracy between governments and pharmaceutical companies to hide the truth and eventually produce a cure for maximum profitability, even as he claims to possess a homeopathic remedy.

Further skepticism of the health establishment is embodied by a genius Bay Area scientist (Elliott Gould) who quickly figures out the structure of the pathogen on his own; unfortunately, Gould, so engaging whenever he works with Soderbergh, disappears after this initially flurry. Cotillard also gets short-shrifted, as her character is sequestered by the plot for a long time.       To View The Full HD : free movies online for free

Burke & Hare Watch Online Movie Download Free Dvd

The murder of sixteen people – and the sale of their bodies for medical research – doesn’t exactly scream ‘comedy gold’, but set it in the nineteenth century, make it more a tale of poverty, pratfalls and political intrigue than actual hands-on killing, and hire  Watch Burke & Hare Movie Online
American Werewolf’ maestro John Landis to direct, and bingo. While ‘Burke and Hare’ can’t claim the wit, style and invention of Landis’s earlier grisly masterpiece, it does mark a major return to form for a director who has spent the better part of a decade in the wilderness. Rest assured, it’s a hell of an improvement on ‘Beverly Hills Cop 3’.

Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis play William Burke and William Hare, Irish immigrants to Edinburgh who turn to body-snatching when other enterprises dry up. As the presence of two such likeable actors might suggest, Burke and Hare aren’t the villains here, just hapless ne’er-do-wells desperate for cash. The real bad guys are, well, just about everyone else: Tom Wilkinson and Tim Curry as devious doctors, Hugh Bonneville as the sleazy surgeon general and David Hayman as cut-throat gangster MacTavish.

And it’s this rogue’s gallery of homegrown comedy and character acting talent which makes ‘Burke and Hare’ the pleasure it is: Pegg and Serkis are relaxed and likeable in the leads, Wilkinson and Curry hissable as their adversaries, and there’s sterling support from five decades of familiar comedy and classic horror faces: Christopher Lee, Jenny Agutter, Bill Bailey, Reece Shearsmith, Jessica Hynes, Stephen Merchant. The gold star goes to Ronnie Corbett’s impeccably infuriated turn as short-arse militia captain McLintock, though a single-scene cameo from Paul Whitehouse as a tuneless inebriate runs him close.

The one bum note is struck by Isla Fisher as Burke’s would-be girlfriend Ginny, but it’s hardly her fault: her Scots accent just about holds to the end of the movie, but her part feels awkwardly bolted on to provide romantic interest and sexual frisson. It doesn’t work: when the rest of the plot concerns dastardly deeds done down dark alleys, the sight of Pegg and Fisher making eyes at one another feels clumsy and inappropriate.

Landis directs like an old pro, cluttering the screen with intriguing little details (surgical tools, scientific equipment, body parts) and displaying a nice line in absurdist comic asides. The humour may be too broad in places – corpse-based slapstick pales with repetition – but, for the most part, ‘Burke and Hare’ is well-timed and often funny. Whether we ought to be laughing at this sort of thing is another matter, and reading into the actual facts of the case (most of the victims were women, Hare shopped Burke to save his own skin) does leave the movie feeling slightly vulgar and tasteless – but doesn’t prevent it from being highly entertaining.          Watch Burke & Hare Movie Online

It’s impossible not to wish that Burke & Hare were better, and there are oh so very many ways in which it might have been. It’s a ghoulish historical comedy about the notorious Edinburgh body-snatchers. Wait, did I say comedy? Watching it, I was stricken with doubt.

There’s precisely one proper laugh. Paul Whitehouse has a one-scene cameo as a tottering waster who gets violently shoved down some stone steps, appears to snap every bone in his body, and then gets up burbling apologies and staggers off. Sorry to spoil that. Tim Curry has some nice moments of patrician deadpan as a snooty surgeon. That’s about the extent of the credit column.

Trouble is, Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis, as the titular duo, are stuck at the thoroughly mirthless business end of proceedings, trying to make a go of the corpse-collection business for their eager patron,The usually appealing Isla Fisher, as a feisty bar wench with her hand in Pegg’s pockets, proves that you can be born in Scotland and still comprehensively forget what a Scottish accent sounds like. If you like fog and slop, you do get your money’s worth, but it’s a long time since John Landis has directed anything that isn’t an out-and-out misfire, and this doesn’t end the run. John Landis’s Burke & Hare – a comedy romp through the activities of the notorious 19th-century Irish immigrants turned Edinburgh murderers – gets its tone very wrong. The pitch falls uneasily between the triumphant gothic grotesquerie of Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd and a ham-fisted attempt to touch our heartstrings.            To View The Full HD : free movies online for free

The Black Power Mixtape 1967 - 1975 Watch Online Movie Download Free Dvd

You never know what you might discover in those dusty old boxes that have been sitting in the basement for decades. In the case of Swedish documentary director Göran Hugo Olsson, he unearthed — technically, undusted — a treasure trove of pristine, never-before-seen, 30-year old 16mm reels of film in the basement of the Swedish Television network. Watch The Black Power Mixtape 1967 - 1975 Movie Online
The footage was originally shot by Swedish Television journalists who studiously documented the Black Power movement in the United States during the 1960s and ’70s.

Why were the Swedes so damn interested in the Black Power movement in the U.S.? (Rumor has it that the Swedes amassed more footage of the Black Power movement than the entire U.S.) Well, as far as I can surmise from the footage, the Swedes were probably attempting to prove that they shared a Utopian goal of “equal rights for all” with the Black Power movement. (Swedes were also notably obsessed with the anti-war movement in the U.S. as well, a movement with which Black Power was synonymous.)

While the mainstream media in the U.S. tried their best to ignore the Black Power movement altogether — or they painted Black Power as a form of violent terrorism — Swedish Television practically glorified the likes of Stokely Carmichael, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Eldridge Cleaver, Bobby Seale, Huey Newton, Emile de Antonio and Angela Davis (all of whom appear in The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975). This is more than likely why the TV Guide considered Swedish Television’s coverage of the U.S. to be anti-American. (The U.S. broke diplomatic ties with Sweden in 1972 after the Swedish prime minister compared the atrocities in Vietnam to those of the Nazis.) Besides, white America was too busy pretending that everything was alright to pay attention to a bunch of [Socialist] Scandinavians — Olsson is quick to place Mixtape into its proper context, beginning the documentary with archival footage of a white Miami Beach restaurateur obliviously touting the incomparable freedom and equality in the U.S., a statement that is promptly negated by clips of Hallandale, a poor black shanty town a short drive north of Miami Beach.

Olsson’s Mixtape views the Black Power movement via the kino eye of Swedish filmmakers — outsiders philosophizing about the state de la démocratie en Amérique. One would assume that these white as driven snow foreign journalists probably had a difficult time immersing themselves into the black as midnight as a moonless night sub-culture, but the resulting footage reveals a deeply entrenched kinship and trust between the filmmakers and their subjects. The outsider perspective lends a very unique advantage to the footage; though we can all but prove the journalists’ allegiance to the Black Power movement, the footage is still significantly less culturally biased than film shot by a member of the Black Power movement.          Watch The Black Power Mixtape 1967 - 1975 Movie Online

Mixtape features voice overs by a menagerie of prominent black personalities of the 21st century: Angela Davis, Harry Belafonte, ?uestlove, Erykah Badu, Sonia Sanchez, Talib Kweli, Robin Kelley, Kathleen Cleaver, Abiodun Oyewole and John Forte. For the most part, the narrations seem to be unscripted, as if the participants are reacting naturally to the Swedish Television footage (you know, like a DVD commentary).

The titular mixtape refers simultaneously to both sound and image. ?uestlove provides an impeccable compilation of era-appropriate tunes, while Olsson reveals a priceless compilation of 16mm footage: Stokely Carmichael is practically worshiped as an iconic hero in Europe;         To View The Full HD : free movies online for free

Watch Beware the Gonzo Movie Online

I was fortunate enough to attend last night’s world premiere of BEWARE THE GONZO, written and directed by Bryan Goluboff, at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival. Watch Beware the Gonzo Movie Online
This light-hearted high school dramedy (emphasis on the –medy part, in the vein of JUNO) is a far cry from Goluboff’s last produced film credit, THE BASKETBALL DIARIES, for which he wrote the screenplay.  His range is impressive, as both the comedic and dramatic elements of GONZO were quite well-executed.  It felt real enough to be relatable, but outlandish enough to make me laugh out loud many times throughout.

Ezra Miller was a perfect choice for the leading role of ‘Gonzo Gilman’, an aspiring investigative journalist, who decides to create his own underground high school newspaper after being booted from the established school paper by Editor-in-Chief and Grade A Popular Douchebag, ‘Gavin Reilly’ (played by Jesse McCartney).  Miller has the whole teenage angst thing down to a science at this point, especially having played the role of ‘Damien’ in the hit Showtime series CALIFORNICATION.  With his hip alternative look and solid dry comedic timing juxtaposed with a markedly honest dramatic performance, Ezra definitely shines in this film.  His co-star, Zoë Kravitz, was perfectly fine.  The role was not particularly challenging or interesting, but she played it just right – maintaining the fun-but-angsty tone of the film without upstaging the more interesting characters.  It certainly doesn’t hurt that she’s gorgeous.  I have a sneaky suspicion that the mainstream media will describe her as “exotic” because her skin is darker than, say, Hayden Panettiere’s, but she strikes me more as gorgeous in a hip New Yorker kind of way.  It works, regardless of what you want to call it.

To be perfectly honest, Jesse McCartney surprised me.  I’ve never seen the TV shows SUMMERLAND or GREEK, so the Jesse McCartney I knew was a teen pop star who appealed mostly to young girls (and any member of NAMBLA).  I had the pleasure of meeting Jesse prior to the screening, and for someone as friendly as he actually is, he played a convincing antagonist.  His All-American appeal has not changed, and we should expect to see more of him on the big screen in years to come.

Goluboff also selected his ensemble cast very well.  Amy Sedaris and Campbell Scott played Gonzo’s parents, and both nailed it.  The teen ensemble was my favorite part of the film, particularly standout newcomers Griffin Newman (‘Horny Rob’) and Stefanie Y. Hong (‘Ming Na’).  Newman has superb comedic timing, and Hong is just funny to see on screen, a la Jon Heder.

Beware The Gonzo is one of the better high school films I’ve seen in the past few years.  It could very well be this year’s Juno, which scored major points at the box office after getting a full national release.  It’s got comedy, romance, sex, awkwardness, passion, angst, nerds, hot chicks, and a little tenderness thrown in for good measure.         Watch Beware the Gonzo Movie Online

You’ve heard it here first on themoviebanter.com, Beware The Gonzo is a must see at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.Precedents for a story like this prove that it can be done right. The “Fraudcast News” episode of “The Simpsons,” where Lisa’s grassroots paper overcomes Mr. Burns’s media tyranny, contains a lot more wit than the scenes where Gonzo resists his principal’s attempt to stymie the indie publication. His free-spirited mentality suggests everything from “Superbad” to “Freaks and Geeks” and Ferris Bueller, but lacks the inspiration of them all. Goluboff fails to provide Gonzo or his peers with any interesting quirks beyond the standard set of social and sexual issues that have already been done to death on “Gossip Girl” and countless antecedents. Bit parts for Amy Sedaris (as Gonzo’s anxious mother) and Judah Friendlander (as a pissy cafeteria employee) provide moments of brief inspiration on the merits of the performers ability to transcend the limitations of the material with pure comic finesse.       To View The Full HD : free movies online for free

Watch The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu Online free movie

The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceau?escu is a vast methodical fragment, spanning 25 years of Romanian ideological dictatorship. Assembled form thousands of hours of archival footage this 3 hour pseudo-documentary is as impressive as it is mundane to the contextually unaware. Watch The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu Movie Online

Impeccably maintained newsreel footage mixes with consumer hand-held documentation and protocol congress recordings to create an absorbing narrative of Ceau?escu's rule. The construction contains no narration of any kind; original audio recordings and the occasional produced audio cue lead the audience through a personal recollection of the titular leader. Watching the footage leads to an understanding of the man unobtainable in historical texts, a manufactured autobiography that shows more pomp than trepidation.

Context is a tough thing to come by without narration. With 25 odd years to cover the film briskly moves through time, our only hints of epoch the occasional foreign administrator or political speech. Newsreels don't have the privilege of going behind the ceremony very often, the lack of which leaves a loss of political action; the rallies, and parades a show of socialist support lacking in details.

A magnificent accomplishment in terms of editing, the unanimous use of archival footage brings an immediacy missing from other historical document. As recording devices become more prevalent the repository for historical fiction will grow and I can only hope we see more filmmakers with this type of ambition creating new forms of documentary.

The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceau?escu, which had its world premiere at Cannes last month and will be turning up at other film festivals this fall, is an example of what the radical Soviet documentarian Dziga Vertov called a “film object.”      Watch The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu Movie Online

Culled from a thousand hours of archival footage and four years in the making, this unconventional documentary assembled by the émigré Romanian film-essayist Andrei Ujic? is a three-hour immersion in a totalitarian leader’s official reality. Ceau?escu’s Romania, the Eastern bloc’s most brutally destructive regime, is remembered for its systematic repression, its failed industrialization, and its pervasive police state—including a disastrous ban on contraception that produced a culture of clandestine abortions and horrific orphanages. None of this appears explicitly in the film. Instead, Ujic? shows Ceau?escu’s public image as fabricated by (and for) the dictator himself during the course of his catastrophic 25-year reign.

Much of the material was shot without sound—only the speeches included an audio component—and Ujic? shows the footage largely as found, often in the form of unedited rushes, in Romania’s National Film and National Television archives. There’s neither annotation nor voiceover commentary, although the filmmaker does intermittently add naturalistic sound effects—and, at one point, a slyly-chosen pop song, so that a gaggle of fashionable young Romanians can be seen dancing the Twist to the 1965 rockabilly hit “I Fought the Law and the Law Won.”           To View The Full HD : free movies online for free
